We have such beautiful, sunny weather these 'winter' days, so it is difficult to stay inside. (Correction: weather has changed, we are in for cooler, rainy days). Last Sunday we took advantage of the lovely weather and went for a long walk. The plans for the day didn't turn out as expected, so we decided; 'Shit! We go!' Can't really say we got delayed, we had to wait more than 30 minutes for the bus to Henrietta! What to expect, it was Sunday and buses don't run as often as on week days.
Henrietta, surrounded by sugar cane fields on the countryside. Henrietta has one of the most beautiful nature treasures in Mauritius; Tamarind Falls - 7 Waterfalls (Sept Cascades), where hikes, swimming or canyoning is possible and the view to the west is spectacular. With its highest point of 293 meters / 961 feet, it is the highest waterfall in Mauritius.
Not always we can view the falls like here. This photo was taken a couple of years back... We didn't go to the viewpoint this time.
... and a spectacular view to the west coast

A small private temple
Eucalyptus trees
Empty path, sugar cane fields and lush vegetation
We have not been this side for 4 years.... The temple next to Tamarind reservoir has been extended and beautifully painted.
Sugar canes in bloom
Some youngsters trying their luck; fishing! So far they hadn't got anything. We saw a couple of fishes there though...
7 Cascades Restaurant and Lodge, beautifully set in lush vegetation with stunning view over the Tamarind lake.
